The LIVING ARTS GALLERY is located on the main street of historic Hawi, in the North Kohala district on the Big Island of Hawaii.
The gallery is housed in an historic two story turquoise color building on the ocean side of Akoni Pule Highway (Hwy 270).
Hawi, once a sugar plantation town, retains its rural character and slow paced charm, with an interesting and unique collection of small shops, eateries, and wonderful art galleries!
We're just a short drive and a great day day trip from any of the resorts on the Kohala Coast.
Please come visit our gallery and our community!
From the Kohala Coast Resorts/Kona:
Go north on Hwy 19 until you reach a "T" intersection.Turn left, and go down the hill towards Kawaihae Harbor. At the bottom of the hill, the highway turns to the right. Follow the road for approximately 19 miles along the ocean until you reach Hawi town. You'll find the gallery in the second block of buildings. Look for the gallery in the last turquoise building on the ocean side of the road.
From Waimea/Hilo:
Follow one of the most scenic drives on the island, the Kohala Mountain Road, for 22 miles from Waimea (Kamuela.) When you reach Hawi Road, turn left. Follow the road all the way down the hill (approximately 2 miles) until you reach a "T." At the "T" turn right. Look for the turquoise building on your left.
Look for our colorful banners and flowers in bloom!
We're right on the mainstreet of historic Hawi, at 55-3435 Akoni Pule Highway, #10.
Just a few of doors down from Sushi Rock Restuarant, in the historic "Hawi Hale Building," in beautiful "uptown" Hawi!
